Abuse Awareness Sabbath

Location:All Churches

Date:Sat, 04 Sep 2010

Description:

Abuse Awareness Sabbath is a special day set aside by the General Conference each year to provide local churches with an opportunity to address the issue of abuse, to educate church members and leadership, and to let victims know that their church cares.

Over the past seven years the day has focused on domestic violence, incest, abuse of power, and abuse of the elderly. This year the focus is on Violence against Women.

You will find lots of useful materials in the Resource Packet below, and don't forget to check the 'Resources' section on the Family Ministries page (look for the accompanying PowerPoint presentation, and information about the GC's End it Now campaign, under the heading Abuse Awareness 2010).
