Why did you decide to start working for the church?
Initially I didn't want to work for the Church, it was solely God that had wanted me too. I actually ran
away from His call to ministry and nearly died. This brought me to my work for God and I am now doing what God has called me to do until the day I die!
What would you say are the challenges of your job?
The challenge in communication is that it is constantly changing and there is a need to respond to that change quickly, sensitively and sensibly. News never sleeps!
What are the highlights of your time as director of this Department?
The highlight for me in the Communications Department is to finally see the Media Centre fully established! I think that another highlight is that we have come close to realising the dream of seeing British Adventist produced programmes ready for broadcast on a major British TV platform. It has now become a distinct possibility!

Stefan - Media
Stefan works for the SEC as I.T. and Media technician. He works under the Communications Department helping to portray the South England Conference, and the Seventh Day Adventist Church in general, to the outer world media.
He covers events all over the Conference from a media perspective, including events that aren't run by an element of the SEC, but those that contain issues related to our concerns as well.
Why did you decide to start working for the church?
I have had a passion for media longer than I can remember! I have always wanted to work in this field but the media industry is not really an ideal place for a Christian. I feel that I can only see myself having a fulfilling career by using my gift for God. I had done projects for the SEC before and when this position became available I felt it was an answer to prayer! "Things have to happen in God's time not your own".
What would you say are the challenges of your job?
I haven't been in this position long, however, I think that this website has been my challenge so far! I want to produce something that people are happy using, so please get in touch with your comments and suggestions!
What are the highlights of your time as director of this Department?
There are too many highlights to my job! I am enjoying my role not only in project terms, but also with the people that I'm working side-by-side with and their attitude towards the ministry. I feel accepted and embraced, not to mention delighted that those 'above me' share this passion and want to grasp the world of media and use it to glorify Christ!
